SASSA Gold Cards 2025, Postbank Brings the Black Cards as Replacement

As the cut-off date to upgrade your SASSA Gold Card to the new Postbank Black Card looms near, recipients are encouraged to act before the last cut-off date of March 20, 2025.

Following are simple steps to follow to have a seamless upgrade and prevent any grant payment discontinuity.

Find a Replacement Venue:

• Dial the USSD code 120355# on any mobile phone to locate the nearest SASSA Gold Card replacement venue.
• There are 287 card replacement points throughout the country, of which 237 are additional Spar stores.
• Some other retailers such as Pick n Pay, Boxer, USAVE, Shoprite, and Checkers also have Postbank card replacement points, but not all the stores do. Make sure you check first before visiting.

Operating Hours

Most Postbank replacement card sites are open during the same business hours as the retailers at which they are situated, but some operate from 20:00. Some sites are also open on Saturdays for your convenience.
Roving Teams for Remote Areas:
If you’re located far from a replacement site, Postbank and SASSA have set up roving teams in each province to bring the cards to you. These teams will cover areas that are not close to retailers, ensuring no beneficiary is left behind.

Ministry of Communications and Digital Technologies spokesperson Kwena Moloto confirmed that the timeline for the beneficiaries to replace their gold SASSA card with the black Postbank card has been shifted from February 28 to March 20 2025.
